Kolkata has a tropic wet and dry climate. Summers (March-May) are hot and extremely uncomfortable with maximum temperature crossing 40°C very high humidity levels adding to the discomfort. Winters during December to February bring in a pleasant climate with temperature dipping down to 9°C . Monsoons (June - September) herald in heavy showers. Best time to visit is October - March.
