Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

As you prepare to visit India, we hope our answers to these frequently asked questions will help you on your way. If there’s anything else you need, just give us a call or drop us a mail.

How Does planning work ?

It all starts with a conversation. We love to get to know our clients – and we need to know you so we can plan a holiday that’s perfect for you! Initially we will ask some questions, both practical and out-of-the box. Then, drawing upon your answers and our inside knowledge of India, we’ll create the itinerary options, and present them to you in digital form (or a PDF). From there, we’ll adjust, refine and add in even more layers and details to create the ultimate travel schedule tailored just for you.

Can I change itinerary during booking ?

Absolutely. We encourage you to be open about everything in the proposal – what you love and what you’re not sure about. The beauty of our service is that we’ll refine and tweak it until you’re 100% happy and ready to finalise your booking.

How do I book ?

We specialise in personally tailored tours and there’s no better way to get to know your individual preferences than discussing the various options with you:

Please call us on +91 9958444779

Or email us  at info@monkfoot.com

We will discuss the options and then send you a proposal / cost. This can be tweaked and restructured as required until we have created your final itinerary. When you’re ready to confirm the arrangements, we will need a deposit payment to secure your booking.

Do I have to pay more if there is movement in currency ?

When you book your holiday with us, you’ll secure the price of your holiday at that time, even if there are currency fluctuations in the months leading up to your trip.

Do I Need Travel Insurance ?

We view it as imperative and strongly recommend that guests take out comprehensive travel insurance: covering for personal effects, personal accident, medical and emergency travel expenses, cancellation and curtailment.

What Happens when I arrive ?

You will be met on arrival at the airport by our professional team carrying a placard bearing your name.

You will be chaperoned by a member of the team whenever you make an internal connection by air or rail and again on your final departure.

Is India suitable for Kids ?

India is a fantastic destination for children – nowhere else in the world will open their eyes to such incredible culture, natural beauty and extraordinary wilderness and wildlife.

Can I specify Dietary requirements & Restrictions ?

Generally speaking, yes – most properties and restaurants throughout India are able to cater for dietary restrictions, food allergies and religious restrictions. We record all of your dietary requirements in your booking form and share this with every property and partner on the ground to ensure you’re well catered for.

Do I Need Vaccination ?

We advise you to consult your personal doctor or a travel clinic, as to what vaccinations are necessary before travelling to the various areas in India – for the most up-to-date recommendations.

Do I need to bring personal medicines ?

Although most hotels are equipped with a First Aid Kit and have medical staff on call, we suggest that you bring basic personal articles, such as: plasters, travel sickness tablets, antiseptic cream, antihistamine cream, pain-relieving tablets, indigestion tablets, eye drops, medication for upset stomachs, sunscreen and after-sun moisturiser.

We remind travellers who have any allergies such as insect stings, or any pre-existing conditions requiring medication, to pack the relevant medication.

Do I need to be fit ?

To have the best possible experience in India , you should be in reasonably good health and able to walk short distances without assistance. Early on in the planning process we will ask you about your level of fitness, your interests and how adventurous and strenuous you want your holiday to be – this way we can match you up with the perfect experiences.  But don’t worry, there are plenty of opportunities for light physical activity if you want to take things easy – and you can even go on safari if you’re in a wheelchair.

Guests on Wheel Chair (Accessible Travel)

Accessible travel is a phrase used to describe suitable travelling conditions for persons with disability (PWDs). This includes everything from toilets to availability of assistants who can communicate in sign language.

We create special itineraries that ensure comfortable trips for wheel-chair bound guests with stays in hotels that have rooms with wheel-chair friendly features  like doorways with a width of 70-90 cm & bathroom layout so wheelchairs may be manoeuvred easily. We also provide sensitised guides & drivers who will assist wheelchair-bound travellers with dignity.

What can I expect

India is so incredibly vast and diverse that it is impossible to capture it in a single itinerary. The cities are cosmopolitan and much like most major metropolises . Everywhere you go, you can expect the same warm welcome and an array of colourful cultures. When you’ve experienced it once, we have no doubt you’ll be back.

What are the top destinations

As custom travel specialists, we suggest creating an itinerary that will give you a well-rounded experience, tailored to your own interests. Wherever you decide, we know you’ll be back.

When to visit

The best time to visit India is post monsoon October - April. It all comes down to where you want to go and what you want to experience. We can suggest brilliant destinations for any time of year and help create the perfect itinerary for you.

Do I need expensive camera & lens ?

If you own a long lens & planning a wildlife safari, please do not leave it at home, but it is not essential. Many guests photograph animals within meters of the safari vehicle through 300m lens. Some of the best shots are event taken on a phone camera.
