Guest Feedback

Dear Ratnabh
Another great trip – very well organized and we could enjoy. Thank you very much for all you have done for us and specially, Marcel. Your great help is very much appreciated, without which we could not have enjoyed this wonderful trip.
See you next year again !

Monkfoot travel is surely the best travel service I have ever used. I am from the UK and was recommended to Monkfoot by a family member. We travelled for 5 weeks across India and Nepal and we could not be more impressed. We were met by Monkfoot representatives at every airport, driven by a superb driver, and the details of the trip was planned meticulously. We had once in a life time experiences. Because Monkfoot is based in India they knew the best hotels, places to go, places to eat and were very affordable. There was no UK agent that could beat it.
We then planned a holiday with Monkfoot to travel to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos . Again, first class hotels, first class service and every detail planned with precision .
We will be planning our next trip with Monkfoot soon, cant wait.
L and I from Tunbridge Wells, Kent (Visited Rajasthan and Nepal) later they visited Sri Lanka, cambodia and Vietnam)

My family and I have been using Monkfoot services for the last 10 years. The reasons we keep going back is that their knowledge of those lesser known areas (we call the hidden gems of India) is immense.
In January/February 2020 based on their recommendations we visited Vanghat - one of the most remote wildlife lodges in Northern Indian deep inside Kalagarh Tiger Reserve division of the Corbett National Park. It was breathtaking. Monkfoot then organised for a five day village walk in Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. My family and I walked in a pristine environment and lived in the villages with the local people. It was an experience of a lifetime.
This was one of a dozen unusual itineraries Monkfoot put together for us. Most of all the reason we keep coming back to them is their personalized service. I have recommend them to numerous friends who ask me about traveling in India. The feedback has been that Monkfoot have consistently exceeded expectations. I would never use anyone else.
Mary from Ireland was living in India

Just a few words to tell you about our trip in Rajasthan.
After a smooth arrival in Udaipur where your local rep was waiting for us, we enjoy the hotel and the visit next day was very well organized.
You local rep was nice and helpful and the guide was also very  good with good English and lots of information.
He also advised us to attend at night a dance spectacle in one of the city museum, what we did and really enjoyed it.
Then we drove to Ranakpur on our way to Jodhpur. Our driver was very calm, nice and we had no problem all the way.
Ranakpur is a must to see temple and was a nice break on the way.
We arrived in Jodhpur the evening when they burn the devil and as our hotel was just in the city center, we could attend the fireworks.
Then our driver brings us to the desert village. For all of us, it was the highlight of the trip. It’s a very simple place with nice farmers, it was not so much desert as it was quite green still from the monsoon. We could enjoy a camel ride but didn’t went to sleep in the dunes because Julien my youngest had little bit delli belli and our flight was earlier the next morning so I didn’t want to stress to come back to Jodhpur.
We could cook with the farmer, Julien could milk the goat and we saw a lot of stars and the big red moon at 4h30 in the morning. Staying 2 days there with no honking, only nature noises was very nice.
Then back to Jodhpur at the airport and back to Delhi.
I’ll definitively recommend that tour to some friends around and from Europe as it gives a very nice overview of Rajasthan beauties and richness.
Thanks again for your good advice and great organization together with Ratnabh
Mido and Lars – Denmark (Visited Udaipur, Jodhpur, Hacra)

Ratnabh, a wildlife photographer, arranged our recent India family holiday with superb attention to detail and care. For example, we were very fortunate to have 3 tiger sightings in Ranthambore mindful that even one is rare and Ratnabh and his team seemed to somehow ensure that we were in the best sections of Ranthambore every day to achieve this.
Raymond Schwartz – Australia (Visited Ranthambhore & Rajasthan)

We have returned well to winterly Germany.
But when we think back to our trip in Rajasthan we fell all warm. Great, wonderful thanks for the super program.
We are completely satisfied and experienced perfect days. The guides and care-takers were extremely pleasant and competent. A highlight were of course the days in Hacra with the camel tour.
We were taken care of perfectly by Gehmar and his colleagues and can highly recommend the tour.
Warm regards from Bodensee
Herbert and Monika- Germany (Visited Rajasthan)

Yesterday we got back from Sunderban. Thank you very much for the organisation! It was really very great. Our Tour Guide Arpita was super!!! She knew about everything and spoke excellent English.
We had great weather (approx.. 25C) and the air was very good, we should have brought some back to Delhi of the same J
On our next trip we shall certainly come back to you.
Tom and Anika -Germany (Visited Sunderban in West Bengal)

We had the ultimate travel to the North East of India. This journey, as we have experienced it should only take people who want to see a lot of new, interesting, exciting and adventurous. These people will get their money's worth ! There were but unforgettable impressions of regions that are avoided by tourists and for comfort-seeking people. And that's a good thing, because that would be out of place there.
In addition to our dream trip to Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, we had booked 2 more train travel in Monkfoot.
The first took us into the Thar desert to Jaisalmeer, for me, the dream city of One Thousand-and-One-Night. Although many Western tourists, Jaisalmer is worth the trip. Especially if you can book through Monkfoot the hotel where we have stayed. In the old town, accessible only on foot, a museum the same, with a great service.
The second destination was Amritsar, close to the border with Pakistan. The Golden Temple, the largest shrine of the Sikhs, is so impressive that I will not describe here can.
Finally, very many thanks to Lara and Ratnabh of Monkfoot, who made such a great experience.
Werner and Tina -Germany (Visited Assam, Arunachal, Jaisalmer and Amritsar)

I would like to tell you thank you very much for such a great trip - it was just perfect.  Even better than last year , plus, are guides were wonderful and their English was very good!
Thank you

Wanted to thank you for the fantastic Organization/Tour that you organized for my parents in Mumbai+Aurangabad last week
Even with a last minute organization, everything was perfect
My Parents have plenty of souvenirs, and enjoyed every single visit/hotel/trip you organized
Thanks
Claire & Maxime France (Visited Mumbai and Ajanata-Ellora)

We researched a travel itinerary for a two week trip around India and once we had decided upon our destinations we passed the details to Monkfoot Travel to draw up a final tour.
They did a marvellous job!  They made all our travel arrangements, flights and cars, arranged local guides and drew up itineraries for each destination. They booked all hotels, suggesting alternatives to some we had thought suitable and we took their advice and went with some of their recommended properties, which were fabulous.  We also spent a magical day and night on a houseboat in the backwaters, where peace and tranquillity reign.
Our tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly, and the drivers were most amenable and punctual.  At every destination there was a representative there to meet us and introduce the driver to us and assist with check in at our hotels.
Throughout our trip we had SMS messages to inform us of the names and contact details of the driver and representative at out next destination.
All in all we had a truly magnificent holiday and Monkfoot Travel made it all possible for us in a most pleasant and professional manner.  We cannot praise the service highly enough and would most definitely recommend the services of Monkfoot Travel to everyone.
Robert and Alexandra -USA (Visited Udaipur, Mumbai, Kochi, Alappuzha, Kovalam)

Firstly, thank you, we had an excellent time in Ranthambhore.
Whole variety of birds, mongoose, deer, boars, a shy leopard and Romeo the dominant male tiger.
Amazing and humbling experience, the grace and silence of a tiger is a lifelong memory!
Best wishes and thank you again
Andrew  (Visited Ranthambhore National Park)

I would like to thank you for the wonderful trip to Rajasthan you organized for our friends and us. It was a trip of dreams come true. Within only 4 days we could see so much and everything we planned was executed in best possible way. Especially Ratnabh who always knew where we are and did contact the driver for early arrival or the hotel for a bit of delay, that was a first in a lifetime for all of us. Never before did we experience such a caring and professional guidance during our trip.
Although I would have preferred the Fairy Queen train to Alwar, the Steam Train is a dream. We were lucky and got the backside compartment with the panorama view, perfect or a group of 6 that we were. We were greeted nicely, we got delicious food cooked on the train itself, service was much better then expected. A wonderful start into our trip. The welcome in Alwar was again with music and ticka ceremony, highlighting the day. We arrived 1.5 hours early and Ratnabh had already informed the driver who arrived shortly after us. Even the station master was very friendly and opened first class waiting room for us.
The driver of the Tempo Traveller had good experience and was with us all the way. What ever we wanted, he could explain or help to get. He never tried to take any advantage of us and knew his way very well.
Our first stop was  Tented Camp. Unbelievable the luxury and perfection they have put in these tents. The camp has a well kept pool a spa and massage and is lovely put up.  Absolutely 5-star felling and surely not the last time we go there. The safari at Sariska Wildlife Park in the morning as planned started at the resort and took us back in time.
We reached Hotel in Jaipur late in the afternoon.  Lovely, friendly reception of the owner. He has converted his former home into a lovely bed and breakfast with a pool on the terrace, a great terrace and every room was like coming home. The details he has put into the place made it a warm and comfortable stay and we regretted to leave after only 1 night.  In the morning we got very good German speaking guide, we could ride to Amber Fort with elephants, we saw the lake palace, the City Palace, we did some shopping and after a late lunch left for our last destination Patan.
We left and drove right to Patan. In the village we were expected and guided by motorbike through the narrow lanes. There is nothing to see and only after the last turn you drive through a gate like Jaipur and you stop in front of the most romantic and lovely palace we could ever imagine. Reception was royal, with flowers, with a cold towel, with cold drinks in the open lobby. The palace has 19 huge rooms, renovated with love and care and an eye for details. Many stair cases, terraces, corners, doors, like a fairy tale castle. This night we 6 were the only guests but we got full service and dinner buffet as if it was full house. The whole time it was like living in a dream. In the morning the view to the old fort and the hill side was breath taking. The pool and recreation area was well designed and absolutely clean.
In total we enjoyed every minute of our time and trip to Rajasthan. I am happy that I just trusted your recommendations and experience. It could not be better than that. Looking at the costs, all together and in detail everything was very reasonably priced and value for money was so much more.
Thank you once again, it was the greatest trip we ever made.
Birgit  (Visited Sariska, Jaipur and Patan)

I am incredibly happy with Monkfoot Travel!
I got married in Delhi, and Monkfoot helped me organize a trip for my European guests to go see the Taj Mahal.
Everything from the initial contact, to discussing the itinerary and trip logistics, to the clarity and documentation of pricing through emails, follow-ups through phone calls, as well as an incredibly well-liked guide that was sent along for the trip - all my guests were really really happy about their Taj Mahal experience. Thank you Lara and Ratnabh for fantastic  service that absolutely met my expectations. I now have a go-to travel agent for my future visitors to India, and can't wait to explore India myself with them. Warmly, Diana Ots

We use Monkfoot to arrange our trip to Ranthambhore. We were two families travelling together with three children under 4years  and one aged 8years. Our requirements were discussed in detail prior to going ahead with the booking. They took care to make sure that how we travelled and where we stayed would also suit the children. We all went on the train and had seamless transfers to our accommodation. The accommodation was great with a swimming pool and lots of room for the children to run around. We left the younger children at the hotel for the morning safaris but the guide was able to organise an afternoon where we took the younger ones on a "baby safari" on the outskirts of the park. They saw lots of deer, monkeys, birds and other animals which they were fascinated with. We saw tigers on two of the safaris but the trip would have been fantastic even if we didn't, there were loads of animals in the park and the guide we had was excellent. We were very happy with all aspects of the holiday and Lara and Ratnabh were constantly in touch to make sure everything was going smoothly."
'We booked a last minute trip to Amritsar through Monkfoot travels. I took the train up with my husbands parents and two young children. They enjoyed the train trip(6 hours) even though it was raining most of the way. Breakfast and snacks were provided on the train. The driver met us at the station and took us to the hotel. We used the next day for sightseeing, the guide was very good and well informed taking us all through the golden temple to Jallianwala Bagh and then later on to the border ceremony. We had decided to fly back as there were no train tickets. Everything was organised by Monkfoot, we were provided with detailed information before we left and they were available for any questions or concerns. After doing quite a few trips around India I have found, especially with young children, that it is much easier to have a good travel agent organise the trip and make all the bookings. You don't have to search for hours looking at different accommodation and transport options and you have no concerns about where you are going to end up!. '

Sorry for the late reply. Im back in South Africa - back to work and Charles is still in India until the 20th January.
Thank you to you and Ratnabh for organizing, what Charles has called it, "the best holiday of my life"!
It really was amazing. There were some hair raising moments but it all added to fun of everything.
Charles and his uncle Peter have decided to return to Rishikesh together one day - what a place!
And Udaipur was perfect to finish up on - just beautiful.
I will forward you some pics once Charles gets back - he has the camera. Visuals will just be better.
Thanks again! Wishing Monkfoot as well as you and Ratnab a great 2014!!

I just wanted to say thanks for organising the trip to Ranthambhore. We all had a fantastic time from the hotel to the amazing safari experiences. Even if we had not seen a tiger it would have been well worth it.
Additionally top marks for the guide , he was excellent!

Hallo Ratnabh,
Bastian – Germany  (Visited Agra, Jaipur and Ranthambhore National Park)

With friends over from Scotland we had an excellent trip to Ranthambhore thanks to Ratnabh’s organisation and knowledge.  He recommended and then arranged a private guide for us in the game reserve who knew all the best places and found us tigers on two of the three days we were in the game reserve which was a fantastic bonus.  Our travel and accommodation arrangements went very smoothly and the hotel was very good.
Lorraine - UK (Visited Ranthambhore)

Me and our friends had a fantastic vacation/travel in India-it was without any doubt the best tour we had so far, given the fact that some our close friends were part of the experience. Nearby everthing went absolutely perfect and I would like to thank you and your team for this exiting experience
Olaf and family – Germany (Visited Corbett National Park, Agra,Jaipur, Rishikesh)

Super great holiday! Admittedly, I was quite surprised  with the level of organisation, as it was absolutely brilliant; on the one hand we lost no time worrying about things we may need to sort out, on the other hand we saw so much more of the country, than had we been on our own. For sure, there would have been 2-3 days on which we would have slept longer, or just skipped things out of sheer laziness.
In retrospect it feels like we were travelling for at least 6 weeks, when it was actually only 3! We saw SO much in 3 weeks, and especially the first half was not so easy – in terms f travelling – but we had enough beach-time to create a perfect balance and mix at the end.
I must honestly say that I was extremely impressed with the overall standard! I really did not expect that we have such a continuous high standard of hotels and also personal chauffeurs and guides!!
Really, really great!!!
Thousand thanks again for everything.

We are now back in England and would like to say thank you for your patient and special help to arrange this excellent trip for and with us.
We enjoyed every second and have also lived quite an "Indian life" with all the people we met. It was a wonderful holiday and everything went perfect, we even managed 3 trips on the Nilgiri railways with perseverance and patience. The worst that happened to us was a train that was 15 min late. And all the beauty we saw: tigers, elephants, dolphins and this amazing country side. All the kindness of the people and their interest in us. I do not know how to pack our month in India in a few sentences, but it was everything we wanted and more.
Thanks a lot
Mark and Annette Sliwinski (Visited Corbett, Rajasthan and Tamilnadu)

Thank you my friend...you helped in many ways to make my experiences in India comfortable and reassuring.
Happy Holidays to you and your family...

My trip was really enjoyable!

I just realised I had promised you some feedback on our Sangla adventure and totally forgot to send it.  So here goes.
Trains were all great.  The toy train, although a great experience, took 7 hours to reach Shimla, so we were rather happy when we finally made it to the top.
Sanjeev our driver was a very nice man.  His English was good and he was more than happy to answer any questions.  He was a good tour guide and quite knowledgeable about the whole region and happy to chat away.  Excellent driving skills and we felt quite safe in his hands considering some of the roads we went on.
Absolutely loved Sangla and Banjara Camp.  Even though the drive was 9 hours, the landscape is quite spectacular and constantly changing so it didn't seem that long.  Having said that, we were rather happy to reach our destination.  Lunch on the way was at a restaurant which was pretty good so there was no need to really carry food with us.
The management of Banjara are to be congratulated.  All the staff at the camp, right down to the cleaners and gardeners, were the happiest people we have met in a long time and this is a testament to the management and how the camp is run.  Quality of accommodation is great.  Food is delicious.  Treks were a little tiring for oldies like us, but we loved the 3 treks we did.  Unfortunately we felt the trek to the meadows was going to be too much for us so we only did the easy and medium treks and then a village walk on the 3rd day.  The staff, including the owners, made sure everyone would mix socially around the campfire at night and during the treks and like Sanjeev, our driver, were very knowledgeable about the local flora, fauna and people and quite keen to impart their knowledge.  We could easily have stayed for another 4 nights and can't thank you enough for recommending it.
Thanks for the suggestion to go to Sarahan.  Temple was worth seeing and we had the best club sandwiches at a restaurant close by with one of the friendliest waiters we have ever come across.
So all in all, we had a fabulous holiday and it has certainly whet our appetite for the drive from Manali to Leh or perhaps Spiti.
Thank you again for your efforts in organising this.  It really was a wonderful break from the heat and dust of Gurgaon.
Warm regards
Catherine Alphonso,Australia  (Visited Shimla and Sangla)

I have not yet had the opportunity to thank you for the magnificent travel you arranged for me and my friend,Susanne.
We had an extremely well organized tour, where we were looked after from the very beginning. We began our travel in Varanasi where our guide was waiting outside the airport. We were taken to a charming hotel just next to the river Ganges. He took us on a boatride, where we saw a lot of fires with dead corpses – it was an experience I shall never forget.
When we arrived to Jaipur our guide was on the spot again. We did not have to worry one second. We came to a beautiful hotel, where they gave us a magnificent service. We were so surprised, when we had had our dinner, and they not even charged us for the wine! Our guide took us to the station and I was a bit nervous for the tour, but he followed us into the compartment and did not leave until the train took off. We both slept the whole way to Udaipur, where we again were taken care of.
The hotel was so great. The food was gorgeous and the pool magnificent.
As you can understand we were so pleased  with everything:  the men who welcomed us, our guides, the hotels, the arranged tours, EVERYTHING.
I think I mix up the men who took care of us and the guides, But they were all great especially your men from Monkfoot.
We have been talking about it again and again. We have both travelled a lot,but we have never experienced such a well organized tour. It was so wonderful that we felt you were together with us the whole time. Thank you for calling us and asking how we were.
I want to thank you so much for your help.
Yours sincerely
Tove Kjeldsen, Denmark  (Varanasi, jaipur and Udaipur)

I can tell you with absolute certainty that we The Alphonso's were blown away with our Corbett and Sonapani experiences.  We just loved every minute of it.  Our visitors I think are still very wide eyed.
Andre and I want to thank you very much for everything you did to make that trip as special as it was.  The guides and drivers were exceptional.
Dhikala - there really is only one place to stay in Corbett and that's Dhikala.  Again the accommodation is clean, adequate and good clean food.  Also the staff at Dhikala were extremely helpful with any request or enquiry.  What a wonderful place both in scenery and atmosphere.
Sonapani - just beautiful.  Ashish and Deepa have built a wonderful little village and are very welcoming.  Food was great; accommodation was great, fresh air was magic and the views spectacular.
I don't have time to go into great detail but thought you might like to refer to our blog to get a sense of our experiences - particularly Corbett.  Our blog address is:

First, we want to thank you for the wonderful trip you organized.
The advice on hotels and shopping was excellent.
The drivers were cautious and prepared.

Hello Everybody :
It's not often that I post dithyrambic appraisal on agency or whatsoever, but this time yes!
Simply because after many experiences, this agency never failed, regularly provided the kind of service and human touch we are so much striving for down here!
MONKFOOT Travels sent us to Ajanta and Ellora caves, gorgious. Even though we missed our flight and took another one, they managed to keep the program, the driver was absolutely nice and clever, bringing us to not so conventional places we love, hotel package like a fairy tale and finally, they managed to get the failed ticket reimbursed pretty fast. Isn't it a good service?
The same in Corbett: we went 3 days with Ratnabh. Fantastic! We saw so many animals (but no tiger!), including an evening in the middle of a herd of wild elephants (probably one of the greatest memory of all my travels), and Ratnabh, managing quietly the situation, discussing about all topics with interest.
Our friends from China visited Rajasthan with Monkfoot: same experience, same . They even got reimbursed a part of the taxi because it was < not exactly >  what was expected. They still do not believe that it happened in India!
Such experiences are quite rare, specially when it comes to having a regular excellent service in all details. Believe us, we have thousands of km in the feet, back-pack style, but with Monkfoot, it's something different.
To all travelers who want to rest from time to time: Just try it
Roland and Maite Falageollet- France (Visited Corbett, Ajanta and Ellora)

Hi Ratnabh,
I want to thank you very much for your help and perfect organization of our trips in India. Everything worked perfect and we enjoyed the boat trip very much. The Taj Kumarakom was very beautiful and relaxing and for the last two nights we got a free upgrade to a villa with private pool. We enjoyed our stay very much and everything worked perfectly.
We think about travelling to India again, so if we so, we hope to get your help of your office again.
Dr. Georg Fürnau  - Germany (Visited Kerala and Rajasthan)

Hi Ratnabh
For me Monkfoot travels equals personal service and detail. After two good experiences I can safely say that arrangements are great and that you truly get your money's worth. Booking with Monkfoot will reduce your stress and increase the joy of your travel experience!
Guus van der Zijden - Netherlands (Visited Ranthambhore and Uttarakhand)

Hi Ratnabh,
Thank you very much for all your support. We had a great trip! I'll highly recommend Monkfoot!
Maria Lestropo, January 2011, India (Visited Rajasthan, Varanasi and Khajuraho)
Sorry it has taken me a while to get back to you, but after Ranthambore we only had a couple of days in India before heading back to the UK and straight in to work (and the snow!).
I just wanted to say thank you very much for sorting everything out for us, and making our trip possible. I fully appreciate that it was not a very straight forward job and very much appreciate you making it possible.
Despite the weather on Wed which was less than ideal, our trip was ultimately a great success given we got to see a Tiger on Thurs morning! However, even without this, the scenery in Ranthambore is absolutely stunning, and a trip to the Fort is worthwhile on any occasion.
Once again, thank you for all your effort on this.
Best wishes,
Mairi Mcguiness  UK (Visited Ranthambhore)

Dear Ratnabh and Lara,
Thanks so much for delivering such great experience! I would recommend Monkfoot to anyone who is looking for great experience traveling India. This gets even better with the pricing of Monkfoot, it is great value for money which any other travel agency will find it hard to beat!
Great service, wonderful experiences and value for money... Thanks!
Looking forward to our next holiday with Monkfoot.

We have experienced two great safari experiences efficiently organized by Ratnabh Banerjee at Monkfoot, once in 2017 to Ranthambore via JC Travels in Sri Lanka and again earlier this year, 2019,  to Kanha and Bandhavgarh where we booked our travel direct from Monkfoot. The transport facilities from either Jaipur to Ranthambore or Delhi to Kanha via Jabalpur were punctual and excellent and the board and accommodation provided at the hotels was first class. I would definitely travel with them again and would recommend Monkfoot to anyone.
Nedra & Ananda

We used WildinSoul.com to arrange a visit to the Tadoba National Park in India mid last year.  They set up an excellent itinerary for us, which included the domestic travel, accommodation just outside the park and the safari's etc. Their recommendation of the lodge was excellent and exceeded our expectations.  They also requested the lodge to provide us a naturalist who was also very good.  Ratnabh, their local partner met us at the airport and made sure our transfers etc were smooth and continuously stayed in touch with us.  All in,  they did a fantastic job. I fully recommend them, and will certainly use them again on future trips to india.
