Route : Delhi-Guwahati-Majuli-Ziro-Daporijo-Along-Panging-Pasighat-Dibrugarh-Mon-Mokokchung-Tuhema-Kohima-Khinoma-Dimapur-Delhi

A special tour to the heart of the tribal society of North Eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, where tribal life is still vibrating in spite of the many changes in the outside world. All these groups have their distinctive social and cultural identities, speaking different languages and dialects of the Tibeto-Burmese family and following different beliefs and customs. The tribes are integrated into groups independent of each other, living their separate lives threaded by the common pattern of life. The casteless societies are governed by chiefs and the adults are grouped according to their age for distinct social functions.
An immersive journey to explore the tribal land and begin learning about the mysterious North-Eastern part of India.

Brief Itinerary

Day 1

Delhi-Guwahati

Guwahati

Fly to Guwahati
Afternoon visit Umananda and Kamakhya temple.

Day 2

Guwahati-Ziro

Ziro

Transfer to Ziro (170 km / 7 hrs).
Ziro Valley iis renowned for its pine-clad rolling hills, unique paddy-cum-pisciculture farming, and the rich, sustainable culture of the local Apatani tribe.

Day 3

Ziro Valley

Experience Apatani village and cultural life and enjoy short hike.

Day 4

Ziro - Daporijo

Daporijo

Transfer to Daporijo (160 km / 5 hrs).
Experience first-hand the Adi Gallong, Hill Miri and Tagin tribes in Rigu village.

Day 5

Daporijo-Along

Along

Transfer to Along (148 km / 5 hrs).
Drive 5h to Along and proceed further to Wakh village to mingle with the Adi Gallong tribal community and enjoy their local cuisine..

Day 6

Along - Pangin

Pangin

Drive to Panging village, then hike for 3h to Komsing village – inhabited by the aboriginal Adi Myniong tribe. The hike also involves crossing the mighty Siang river over the iconic 110m long cane bridge made by the indigenous tribesmen.

Day 7

Pangin - Pasighat - Dibrugarh

Pasighat

Hike back to the road head and drive to Passighat.
Ferry accross Bramhaputra to Dibrugarh.

Day 8

Dibrugarh -Mon

Mon

Transfer to Mon (170 km / 5.5 hrs).
Visit Mon Market.

Day 9

Mon-Mokokchung

Mokokchung

Transfer to Mokokchung (220 km / 7 hrs).
Evening visit Ungma village - the biggest Ao. According to legend, the early Aos settled here first after coming from Chungliyimti.

Day 10

Mokokchung-Touphema

Touphema

Transfer to Touphema (170 km / 5 hrs), via Wokha.
Touphema (also spelled Tuophema) is a heritage tourist village in Nagaland, India, showcasing authentic Angami Naga tribal culture.

Day 11

Touphema-Kohima

Kohima

Transfer to Kohima (50 km / 2 hrs).
En route visit the Kohima museum – rich in traditional arts and craft. After lunch visit War Memorial, Kisema village (12 km from Kohima) - it is a Naga Heritage Village

Day 12

Kohima-Khonoma

Khonoma

Proceed to the Western Angami village Khonoma known their environmental protection activities and unique system of terraced paddy farming. After lunch a guided tour of the village.
